Week 11 - Baraka
Name of director - Ron FrickeDescribe what you feel is the message of film
Showing the diversity of human life including aspect tragedy, cruelty, indifference, culture, wonder and hope.

How do you feel about the absence of dialogue?
The absence of dialogue makes the film feel more like a personal observation session rather than a guided tour. I don't think the film would have worked if there was dialogue.
The film mainly relies on the Kuleshov effect to comvey its meaning to the audience.

Would you recommend this film?
I would definitely would recommend this film to any filmmakers or animators as it a great use of editing and camera work. The shots are ambitious and the director uses editing as a narrator, almost abusing the Kuleshov effect to tell the story. Alternative, I would not recommend this film to a younger audience or an audience that wasn't interested in a in depth perspective of film making.
What is the name of the sequel made by the same director?
Samsara
