Corpse Bride
The most prominent use of colour in Tim Burton's is the difference between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Because the residents of the land of the living are obsessed with social standing and boring codes of conduct, everything is shown with a dull grey colour palette. Meanwhile, the residents of the land of the dead have little to nothing to worry about and spend most of their time partying/ enjoying themselves. This happier setting is represented by a much more vibrant colour palette. Additionally, Emily (the titular corpse bride) is most blue, even in the land of the living. The blue is probably a physical representation of the melancholic nature of her character.
